Preeclampsia Prediction Model Construction and Research Progress
Zahra Ghorbaninejad Kouhbanani
ABSTRACT: Preeclampsia, a multifactorial pregnancy complication characterized by hypertension and proteinuria, poses significant risks to maternal and fetal health worldwide. The development of accurate predictive models holds promise for early identification and intervention, thereby mitigating adverse outcomes. This abstract reviews recent advancements in the construction of predictive models for preeclampsia and outlines the current state of research in this field. Various predictive factors, including maternal characteristics, medical history, biomarkers, and imaging techniques, have been incorporated into predictive algorithms, aiming to enhance the sensitivity and specificity of preeclampsia prediction. Machine learning techniques, particularly those leveraging big data analytics, have emerged as powerful tools in model construction, offering the potential to identify complex relationships and improve predictive accuracy. Moreover, advancements in biomolecular research have led to the discovery of novel biomarkers associated with preeclampsia pathogenesis, further enriching predictive models. Despite these advancements, challenges such as model validation, standardization of predictive factors, and implementation in clinical practice persist. Future research directions include prospective validation studies, integration of multi-omics data, and development of user-friendly prediction tools for healthcare professionals. Overall, the ongoing progress in preeclampsia prediction models holds promise for enhancing antenatal care and improving maternal and neonatal outcomes.
